About Our Librarian
Lisa Landis May, Director
Lisa May will be serving Jackson County as the new Library Director at W.A. Billingsley Memorial Library. Mrs. May has lived with her family in Jackson County since 2010. For twelve years, she taught at Newport Elementary School as a 1st, 4th, and 5th grade teacher. Mrs. May is certified to teach all core subjects from kindergarten to 8th grade. In addition, Lisa May is licensed by the state of Arkansas as a Literacy Specialist. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Harding University and a Master’s Degree in Reading from Arkansas State University. Mrs. May hopes to draw all Jackson County citizens to utilize the many services offered by the library.
Board of Directors
The Jackson County Library Board meets once a month to discuss library activities, programs, financials, and administration. All meetings are open to the public. In 2018, the board will meet on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 3:45 p.m. Changes to this date or time will be noted.
